Yes! We are about preventing illness rather than reacting to illness. When illness looks like it is coming, we want to head it off early rather than waiting for the disease to get worse. AND DPC allows for more in-depth discussion about lifestyle, and DPC allows time for digging into underlying causes, personal and family history that can easily be missed in the standard insurance base healthcare system. Small health issues can grow into bigger or even life-threatening health issues without regular visits to a medical provider, AND We Will Be There to Help You Early. Not to mention those times when you get sick more suddenly or have an injury, AND, in many cases, We can save YOU long waits, expensive urgent care co-pays, or ER fees. One saved ER visit usually pays for at least a year’s membership fees. So, YES, it is worth joining THE FAMILY CLINIC, LLC even if you are healthy.

No, which we’re really excited about! We employ the Direct Primary Care model using a flat, monthly membership fee. We don’t participate in insurance so there is no middleman. Our only obligation is to YOU, the patient. We save enormously by cutting out the time and expense devoted to insurance companies’ endless paperwork and clerical demands. We devote our resources where they belong—in Taking Care of YOU.

Yes. The Family Clinic, LLC’s Direct Primary Care membership is not an insurance plan, nor does it replace insurance. We recommend carrying a high deductible or other catastrophic  plan to cover you for hospitalizations, surgeries, and other care that is not included in the membership. No. We are working on necessary steps needed for opting out of Medicare so that Medicare patients can become members. Until then, you can join our wait list.

Once we are able to opt out of Medicare, you only need sign a one-time waiver declaring that neither you nor your medical provider will directly bill Medicare for our services. Medicare will still cover any laboratory testing, imaging, medications, or hospitalizations prescribed by our office. Due to insurance restrictions, we cannot accept Medicare patients with a Medicare Advantage plan.

Yes! We care for patients of all ages, from Newborn to Elder-Born!

No. The Family Clinic, LLC clinicians do not routinely prescribe birth control hormones for the purpose of aborting, interrupting, or suppressing fertility or pregnancy. No, your membership fee cannot be submitted to Medicare for reimbursement.
We seek to prevent or reduce hospitalizations and specialty referrals through improved access and our preventative care approach. If you are hospitalized, we will coordinate your care with the hospital’s team. Hospital care is not covered by our fee. That’s where your insurance comes in. Our providers will work closely with the hospital team upon your admission and discharge so there is continuity in your care. If you need a specialist, we will refer you, leveraging their professional network to find the best fit care for you. In some circumstances, we can communicate with a specialist about your condition and get a treatment plan without you actually seeing the specialist, saving you money and time.

Yes.  However, unfortunately, at the time this was written, to our knowledge, DPC subscription memberships are not a covered service.  We do not accept Medicaid/Minnesota care.  We do not submit fees to insurence.  Please check with your medicaid/Minnesota care plan to find out where you can get care.

We will help arrange any basic X-ray or advanced imaging test (MRI, CT, etc.) you may need wherever you would like to go. Best of all, we will follow-up the results with You.

In an ongoing basis, we try to find more inexpensive options for your imaging.  Imaging fees are not included in the membership, but we look for options that are lower in cost.

Yes! We understand that illness doesn’t always respect usual business hours. Therefore, as a member of The Family Clinic, LLC, you will be given access to your provider through a secure app for urgent concerns that come up unexpectedly after hours.

No. If you decide that DPC is not for you (we don’t think you will), you can cancel anytime with 30 days notice — no questions asked.
